5 Players the San Jose Sharks Should Trade Right Now By Jeff Henning PREV NEXT 5 Players the San Jose Sharks Should Trade Right Now Getty Images The San Jose Sharks have built a strong roster through drafting and free agency. Unfortunately, their regular season success has never been able to translate into the postseason. With aging stars, it may be time for the Sharks to retool their roster and look towards the future. 5. Alex Stalock Getty Images 5. Alex Stalock Getty Images Alex Stalock has gotten off to a bit of a rocky start in 2015-16. In five starts, he’s posted a 1-3 record with a 2.86 GAA to go along with a .894 save percentage. If Stalock cannot round his game into shape, the Sharks may be forced to look elsewhere for a backup to Martin Jones. 4. Raffi Torres Getty Images 4. Raffi Torres Getty Images Raffi Torres has had the kind of NHL career that you don’t necessarily want. He’s spent more time in Brendan Shanahan's company than the score sheet. That said, he could provide a spark off the bench for a team interested in an agitator. 3. Brent Burns Getty Images 3. Brent Burns Getty Images One of the more talented and unique players in the league, Brent Burns has proved his offensive prowess as both a winger and defenseman. Burns is coming off a season in which he scored a career-high 60 points, registering 17 goals and 43 assists. So far in 2015-16 he has 14 points in 18 games played. If the Sharks struggle this season, Burns should be a highly coveted asset. 2. Joe Thornton Getty Images 2. Joe Thornton Getty Images When you think of the San Jose Sharks, Joe Thornton is one of two players who come to mind. Thornton has had a truly elite career splitting his time in Boston and San Jose. Unfortunately, father time seems to be catching up to Thornton as his point totals have been in steady decline for a few seasons now. Thornton has posted 14 points through 18 games in 2015-16, and there is certainly reason to believe ‘Jumbo Joe’ has something left in the tank. 1. Patrick Marleau Getty Images 1. Patrick Marleau Getty Images Along with ‘Jumbo Joe’, Patty Marleau has been a staple in San Jose for his entire illustrious career. However, like Thornton, Marleau is also battling the undefeated father time and he’s been the subject of various trade chatter during the 2015-16 season. Marleau is looking to rebound from last season where managed only 57 points and registered a minus-17. If the Sharks stumble this season they should look to finally move on.
