With 2:04 remaining in the third period of the Chicago Blackhawks‘ 4-3 Game 3 loss to the St. Louis Blues, Blackhawks forward Andrew Shaw was called for roughing and sent to the penalty box for two minutes. Instead of being angry at himself for committing such a dumb penalty, Shaw directed his anger at the referee.
Andrew Shaw going double middle-finger to the refs wasn’t even the worst thing he did tonight pic.twitter.com/jUAQ1zowCn

Shaw was asked after the game what it was that he said, but suddenly his memory went blank.
“Emotions are high; I don’t know what’s said,” he told reporters after the Blues’ 4-3 win. “I was obviously upset with the call, being late in game. It doesn’t give us a chance to tie it up.”
I’m one of the worst lip readers of all time, but even I can tell that Shaw says, “F*** you, f***ing fa**ot.”
The NHL told the Blackhawks that they’re investigating the incident, but there really shouldn’t be an investigation. The league just needs to move on to the suspension phase, because everyone knows what he said. There’s no place in the world for that term and Shaw deserves to be punished.
