In his 11-year career, former NFL running back Eric Dickerson spent one season playing for Al Davis and the Oakland Raiders. It was devastating news for the NFL world to hear about the passing of Davis over the weekend, but when asked about the man who played a big role in the merger of the AFL and NFL, Dickerson only had two words: “No comment.”
TMZ provided the video above in which they interviewed Dickerson about Davis and his thoughts on the St. Louis Rams 0-4 start to the 2011 season. As TMZ points out, Dickerson had plenty to say about the Rams and even joked about them moving back to Los Angeles–but it seemed a bit odd he was unwilling to talk about Davis.
Obviously, there are plenty of positives and negatives when it comes to Davis as an owner–so Dickerson must have had some not-so nice things to say about his former boss.
