Lily Yohannes, 16, Scores on Her Debut For the US Women’s Team

It was a memorable debut for 16-year-old soccer Lily Yohannes, as she found the net in the US women’s team’s 3-0 win against South Korea on Tuesday.

Substituted on in the second half of the friendly, she scored within ten minutes of coming onto the pitch completing a well taken corner routine in the eighty-second minute.

Lily Yohannes seemed overwhelmed with emotion as she celebrated with her teammates after scoring.

Head coach Emma Hayes, who has been impressed by the midfielder in the latest training camp, gave Yohannes her debut.

Just last November at only 16 years old she became the youngest player to start at Women’s Champions’ League group stage game.

Currently, she has already been successful in her first two matches as manager of England and both have been against South Korea.
