Seven UEFA Conference League Talents Ready for a Move

While the UEFA Conference League is not at the forefront of the three European competitions, there are plenty of players that could end up making big money moves to clubs very soon.

But who are they?

Rant Sports has you covered: here is a list of seven players you should know ahead of the next few transfer windows.

Assane Diao – Real Betis, RW, 19

The powerful forward is capable of playing across the entire front 3. He’s strong, quick, technically secure, both-footed, good in the air, 6’2”, good at shooting from distance. He’s also composed in front of goal. What’s not to love?

Kévin Denkey – Cercle Brugge, ST, 23

After the season Denkey had last year, it’s a shock that he’s still in Belgium. In 39 games, he scored an impressive 28 goals at only 22-years-old. Denkey has carried that form into this season too with 11 goals and 6 assists in 22 games so far, and has lit up the UEFA Conference League.

Paul Wanner – Heidenheim, AM, 18

Wanner is one of Bayern’s best young prospects and has been shining out on loan. Last season he went on loan to SV Elversberg and this year to Heidenheim where he’s become a key player. Paul Wanner still holds the record for the youngest ever Bayern player in the Bundesliga when he made his debut at 16 years and 15 days old. He’s very highly rated at Bayern but may struggle to get into the team when he returns. He may look for a permanent move away. Bayer Leverkusen have even been linked.

Josh Acheampong – Chelsea, RB, 18

Chelsea’s Cobham academy is one of the best academies in the world and one of their brightest current prospects is Josh Acheampong. The English defender can play as a right-back and centre-back and has starred for England at youth level. However, there has been a lot of speculation about his future as Chelsea have frozen him out of the team until he signs a professional contract.

But with Reece James and Malo Gusto in his position at RB and signings Wesley Fofana, Axel Disasi and Tosin Adarabioyo all preferred over him, Acheampong may look to push for a move elsewhere.

Johnny Cardoso – Real Betis, DM, 23

American-born, Brazil-raised defensive midfielder Brazilian-born defensive midfielder Johnny Cardoso moved over to Real Betis in January for €6m and has hugely impressed. The defensive midfielder has become an important player for USMNT and Real Betis.

He’s an athletic duel-winner who reads the game excellently and can keep things ticking from deep midfield positions. He likes to break through the lines with his passing too in the UEFA Conference League.

Amir Saipi – Lugano, GK, 24

Amir Saipi is a relatively ‘hidden’ gem but one who is certainly good enough for a top club. The Lugano shot stopper has such a commanding presence in goal and claims crosses well. He brings a sense of control and authority to the team whilst being a leader. His shot stopping has stood out, as his calmness and skill on the ball. He’s a reliable distributor.

Michael Kayode – Fiorentina, RB, 20

Italian full-back Michael Kayode burst onto the scene last season with good performances in big games and never looked out of place even playing in several positions. Kayode is good with both feet which makes him versatile. He’s able to play both left-back and right-back or a wingback on either side. He’s an excellent carrier of the ball and a quality 1v1 defender.
