Andy Reid is a stubborn man. Reid is also a smart man. The Eagles are off to 1-4 start and the sky is falling in Philadelphia. The Phillies disappointed and the Eagles have exasperated the mindset of “Gloom and Doom” Philadelphia.
Step in, Andy Reid. He is the only constant the city has known for the past thirteen years. Reid’s imprint is usually all over the Eagles, however, this team is different. With so many free agent acquisitions this past off season, Reid has lost his trademark cache.
Andy expects to win. He knows, just as everyone else, this team is underachieving. This time, the attention is brighter under the national spotlight. Andy Reid is sweating. Like a good coach should, Andy has deferred blame from his players and coaches, to himself. He always has.
I expect the Eagles will develop a “circle the wagon” attitude from this point on. They owe it to their coach. Unless your name is David Ackers, coach Reid has never thrown his players under the bus.
Reid will continue to plug away and try to correct flaws. He will do it his way though. The way that has gotten the Eagles to the playoffs nine out of the twelve years he has coached.
