Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson is making barely half a million this season and is desperately seeking a new contract.
With the way he played today, a new contract is the last thing the Philadelphia Eagles want to give their overrated, underperforming wide receiver.
Jackson played arguably his worst game as a professional football player today, and unfortunately he’s had some bad ones.
He caught exactly two of the eight passes thrown to him. He totaled 16 receiving yards, a 6-yard catch and a 10-yard catch.
He returned one punt for -9 yards, fumbled the ball, and provided arguably one of the three most embarrassing turnovers of the season for the Eagles. It wasn’t quite on the Ronnie Brown level, but it was close.
Oh, and he dropped the final pass of the game, costing the Eagles a chance at a lateral play (that undoubtedly would have ended with the Eagles turning the ball over).
He wasn’t just ineffective. He was invisible.
He was probably the worst player on the field in the Eagles’ pathetic 30-24 loss to the Chicago Bears.
And he severely hampered his chances at earning a new contract.

While I do agree, Bryn, that Jackson is certainly having an off year, I really really REALLY don’t want the Eagles to let him walk, considering all he needs is a QB that has a decent O-Line for him to really get back to his Pro Bowl form. I mean, imagine if Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, or even Eli Manning having Jackson to throw to. Or the Cowboys. That’d be a nightmare to play against twice a year…
