Head coach Andy Reid has proven that he is a stubborn man. Reid has a distinct philosophy and he is determined to stick to it. Why? Because he feels he is the smartest guy in the room. That can be the only reason Andy continues to coach in the manner that leaves many scratching heir heads.
Last Sunday, against the Cardinals, in a close game Andy stuck to his pass first philosophy. On top of that, he had an injured quarterback. Michael Vick broke two ribs in the first half against Arizona. That did not stop Reid from calling 34 pass attempts against a team he was gutting on the ground with LeSean McCoy.
McCoy carried the ball just 14 times for 81 yards, a whopping 5.8 yards per carry. Vick also scrambled seven different times which would increase the pass run ratio to 41-17 (1 called run for Vick, 1 for Ronnie Brown and 1 for Dion Lewis). Reid managed to do this against a team that is horrendous against the run.
Andy Reid must be held accountable. He is shooting his own nail in his own coffin. There was no reason the Eagles should have lost that game, falling to 3-6.
Reid will get through the season, the question is whether he will be back in 2012. I say bring in John Gruden.
