In 12-plus seasons as head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles, Andy Reid has taken the team to the postseason nine times, reaching the conference championship game five times, and the Super Bowl once. He’s coached a slew of Pro Bowlers and been named AP NFL Coach of the Year twice.
Yet he has never won the big game, and he’s made his share of costly personnel decisions along the way. If I had a time machine and could go back to the day Andy Reid was hired, here are ten things I would have told him.
It’s tough to rank these in order, so I’ll go in chronological order, starting with two years into his coaching career, when Reid selected arguably the most hated player the Eagles have had.
Great list. The Birds also missed Steve Smith and Chad Johnson by taking Freddie Mitchell. McDougle and McLane are two you never hear about. I remember that LJ Smith draft day. Knew it was a mistake at the time. The Brian Dawkins one probably hurts the most.
