Philadelphia Eagles Officially Place Franchise Tag on WR DeSean Jackson
As expected, the Philadelphia Eagles have officially placed their franchise tag on wide receiver DeSean Jackson, ESPN’s NFL Insider Adam Schefter has reported.
The deal will keep Jackson with the Eagles for at least one more season, where he will make a guaranteed $9.4 million. The Eagles had been listening to trade offers for Jackson.
GM Howie Roseman stated that the Eagles will attempt to work on a long-term deal for Jackson.
This past season, Jackson caught 58 passes for 961 yards and four touchdowns. He recorded just one 50-yard touchdown, and failed to do anything in the punt return game (17 for 114; 5.9 average).
In his four-year career, he has caught 230 balls for 4096 yards and 21 touchdowns. He has three rushing touchdowns and four punt return touchdowns.
