Both Hunter Pence and Placido Polanco underwent their offseason surgeries today to fix a sports hernia that ailed each player for much of the season.
Pence announced on his Twitter account that his surgery went well and he is feeling good. Polanco had a double surgery. It was Polanco’s second straight season he had a major injury down the stretch (last year was his elbow).
Pence is under control of the Phillies through 2013, while Polanco enters the final year of his three-year deal in 2012.
