- right wing Ronald Petrovicky was signed as a free agent by the Pittsburgh Penguins and then missed the majority of the 2006-07 season due to pre-season hip surgery
Petrovicky was drafted in the ninth round (228th overall) of the 1996 NHL Entry Draft by the Calgary Flames. He went on to sign with the Flames in 1998.
Currently, Petrovicky plays for the Columbus Blue Jackets‘ AHL affiliate, the Springfield Falcons. He has also played in Russian for the KHL (Kontinental Hockey League). He last played in the NHL during the 2009 pre-season for the Vancouver Canucks on a try-out basis with an invitation to camp, but the Canucks released him prior to the beginning of the regular season.
He was also part of the Slovak national ice hockey team that won the silver medal in the 2000 Ice Hockey World Championships.
