- the Pittsburgh Penguins signed free agent Connor James
Connor James was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in the ninth round (279th overall) of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft). Prior to that, he played collegiate hockey for the University of Denver for four years.
He played a total of two games in the NHL (two with the Kings and one with the Penguins). He scored his first NHL goal against the New York Islanders‘ Rick Dipietro on February 16, 2008. While with Pittsburgh, he mostly played for the team’s AHL affiliate in Wilkes-Barre Scranton and was named the 14th captain in team history in March 2009.
James currently plays in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (German Ice Hockey League). He originally played for the Augsburger Panthers but currently plays for the DEG Metro Stars.
