Gerrit Cole is absolutely dominating the Arizona Fall League, and has emerged as the number 1 prospect for the Pittsburgh Pirates. This isn’t a shock seeing as Cole was the first overall pick in the draft last June out of UCLA.
Gerrit Cole made his AFL debut against a lineup that featured Bryce Harper, Mike Trout, and other top prospects. The stat line? 3 innings no runs 2 hits. Not to shabby.
The Pittsburgh Pirates are starting to quietly build themselves an organization after 2 decades of being awful. Gerrit Cole and Jameson Tallion should be able to anchor the rotation in a few years, and start creating one of the best 1-2 combo’s in all of baseball.
It should be an exciting time for Pittsburgh Pirates fans as the Pirates try and re-emerge as a baseball powerhouse.
