Last night, the Pittsburgh Pirates pounded the Baltimore Orioles for 18 hits in 10-3 rout for the team’s first Spring Training win. Seemingly every Pirates batter had a hit in the game aside from Pedro Alvarez, who finished the day 0-3 with two strikeouts. Not an encouraging first couple days for Pedro, but it’s a long Spring.

Today, the Pirates meet left-handed ace C.C. Sabathia and the New York Yankees at 1:05 PM.

Here’s Pittsburgh’s starting lineup for today:

1. Jose Tabata, RF

2. Clint Barmes, SS

3. Andrew McCutchen, CF

4. Casey McGehee, 1B

5. Neil Walker, 2B

6. Rod Barajas, C

7. Yamaico Navarro, DH

8. Nick Evans, 3B

9. Brandon Boggs, LF

Kevin Correia will start on the mound, followed by Daniel McCutchenDoug SlatenChris ResopTony Watson, Chris Leroux, Ryota Igarashi, and Juan Cruz.

The Yankees will lineup like this:

1. Derek Jeter, SS

2. Robinson Cano, 2B

3. Alex Rodriguez, 3B

4. Mark Teixeira, 1B

5. Andruw Jones, DH

6. Francisco Cervelli, C

7. Chris Dickerson, LF

8. Dewayne Wise, CF

9. Justin Maxwell, RF

The top of the Yankees’ lineup is nothing short of formidable, and Correia will have his hands full for sure.

Also, this from the Tribune-Review’s Rob Biertempfel:

Starting w/Wed game v. Blue Jays, #Pirates will stop using DH in spring games. Starting pitchers have reached 3 ip point.
