The Steelers have a lot at stake when they travel to Cleveland this Sunday to battle the Browns. A win, accompanied by a Ravens loss to the Bengals, will ensure a first round bye and one home playoff game for the Black and Gold. A loss, will mean that Pittsburgh will have to play away from the cozy confines of Heinz Field.
Coach Mike Tomlin believes that quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and center Maurkice Pouncey will be able to suit up against the Browns. Tomlin said early this week that the duo has “a shot” to play on Sunday. He continued and said, “it is our intention right now that if those guys are healthy enough to practice and prepare, then we will play them.” This according to an interview conducted by the Associated Press.
Every-time these two teams get together it is usually a very hard hitting affair and scoring is at a minimum. Steelers linebacker James Harrison has received his largest amount of fines against the Browns in the past, and earlier this season he was suspended one game for his hit on quarterback Colt McCoy.
The Steelers have owned the Browns since the franchise returned to the NFL during the 1999 season. Pittsburgh owns a 22-4 advantage since that point, but don’t expect the Browns to just roll over for their border rivals. Cleveland will be going home after this game and they would love to ring in the new year by throwing a wrench into Pittsburgh’s postseason plans.
The game will be played this Sunday at Cleveland Browns Stadium, and kickoff is set for 4:15 p.m.
