National Signing Day is just three weeks away, and it looks as if number one recruit Robert Nkemdiche is being suited by two other SEC programs.
The obvious candidate and most likely to land Nkemdiche are the Ole Miss Rebels. That part is established. But making one last dash at Nkemdiche are the Florida Gators and LSU Tigers.
Rumors are swirling that Nkemdiche is planning a visit to Gainesville, FL this weekend. The Gators will have some work to do if Nkemdiche is in fact going to take a visit. All signs seem to point to the Rebels landing the talented five-star, but if a trip is actually planned I guess you can’t rule the Gators out quite yet.
Another team that is reportedly making a strong, late push are the Tigers. There is also talk that the Tigers would like to have Nkemdiche come in for a visit. Nkemdiche did say recently that it was just a two horse race between the Tigers and Rebels. So you can’t blame the Tigers if they would like to have Nkemdiche to come in and take a visit. Anything can happen in this game we call recruiting and I can’t see any instance where the Tigers won’t have their best foot forward to land the skilled defensive end.
No matter what happens, this will be a very interesting three weeks for Nkemdiche. I assumed that after Nkemdiche decommitted from the Clemson Tigers it was a just a matter of time before he committed to the Rebels. Now I’m not quite sure what is going on in the head of Nkemdiche. This recruiting game is crazy with many twists and turns and this seems like just another one we will have to watch closely the next few weeks.
