Keith Frazier, a 6-foot-5, 190 pound, shooting guard out of Dallas, Texas will take an official visit to Southern Methodist University. Frazier is one of the most coveted guards but reports have him leaning towards SMU. However, he also has an offer from the University of Texas Longhorns, which are also an in-state school and he has let it be known that he wants to stay in state. That can only help the Longhorns’ case.
Frazier is known to have one of the best and quickest jump shots in the 2013 recruiting class which could help any team. SMU is in need of a pure scorer and Frazier would fill that need for Larry Brown and the Mustangs. Of the Mustangs’ three commits, one of them is shooting guard Sterling Brown but he could share a back court with Frazier in the years to come. Coach Brown could turn them into a Mustang version of Chauncey Billups and Rip Hamilton.
Brown is in the middle of rebuilding the SMU program and Frazier would be a corner stone for that project. One of the things that would lure Frazier to Brown and SMU is the fact that Brown has NBA coaching experience; this could benefit Frazier if he tries to transition to that league. Brown knows people, so to speak. Brown could focus on the fact that he will be able to develop him into Frazier but it will be a tough fight between the Mustangs and the Longhorns of the University of Texas.
