What happens when the head coach of a college football team leaves the program after taking them to a major bowl game four straight years? A search for a head coach begins, of course, but also a scramble for the recruits he leaves behind begins. At Oregon, Chip Kelly left for greener pastures with the Philadelphia Eagles, but behind him an earthquake was felt in Eugene, Oregon. The assistant coaches knew they had some scrambling around to do to keep their recruits within their program. Some big name programs came calling for some big name players.

One of those recruits is running back Dontre Wilson. Although committed to the Oregon Ducks, the four star running back from DeSoto, Texas is looking at all of his options. One of those options is the Ohio State Buckeyes. Always known as a ruthless recruiter head coach Urban Meyer was probably one of the first ones to call Wilson. Meyer led the Buckeyes to an undefeated season, despite NCAA sanctions, in his first season on campus.

Wilson will visit Ohio State and one of the most intriguing parts is that with Meyer in his ear all weekend this could be a real possibility. Meyer could steal a recruit from the Ducks and really help his own recruiting class. Wilson would be a great addition to the wide open offense the Buckeyes run that relies on the defense respecting the run game. If we do not find out where he stands this weekend we will definitely find out on February 6th; national signing day.
