Lorenzo Romar‘s firing at Washington led to a disastrous recruiting outcome for the Huskies, as the Gatorade National Player of the Year, Michael Porter Jr., immediately requested a release from his commitment.
And now the nation’s top player – who averaged 36.2 points and 13.6 rebounds per game – has made it official by stating his intentions to play at Missouri.
Romar was fired on Mar. 15 and Mizzou hired Porter’s father as an assistant coach under Cuonzo Martin on Thursday, making connecting the dots pretty simple in the end.
While all of it seems pretty slimy, here’s to hoping this 6-foot-10 phenom makes his stay in Columbia the time of his life.
