Wooooooooooooooooooooo! I’m sorry I mean Booooooooooooooooooooooo! It’s 2011 but I’m not sure TNA realizes it. They seem to be stuck in the 80′s.
TNA has been hyping up Ric Flair vs Sting for weeks now. It seems like a fun mid card match for a PPV. Something for the fans to watch for some nostalgia. It shouldn’t be the main event of your first TV show after a PPV. TNA has a lot of setting up to do before Bound for Glory. I do realize this match is setting up Hogan vs Sting at BFG but that is going to be another match that would have been good 30 years ago. They did a good job with the Roode vs Angle storyline. I would much rather have had that be the main event tonight.
I am not writing these blogs about old wrestlers to be mean. I am just frustrated having to watch bad matches when there are super talented young stars not being used. The Sting vs Flair match was great in the sense that you had two guys who know how to put on a match. It was terrible in the sense that those two guys that can put on a great match can’t wrestle anymore. The match was slow from start to finish. The match had some nice holds and one nice superplex but I need a little more action in the ring. Two old guys exchanging holds just doesn’t do it for me.
I can only hope after TNA gets through this Hogan vs Sting storyline they will stop focusing on these old wrestlers. I can hope but we all know they will just find a new way to put these old guys right in the middle of it all again. If only there were another major wrestling company that appreciates young talent……
