Video: Brock Lesnar and John Cena Brawl on Monday Night Raw
It didn’t take very long for Brock Lesnar to receive a main event match in the WWE. At the Extreme Rules pay-per-view at the end of the month, Brock Lesnar will take on John Cena.
I expected a little more from Brock Lesnar’s first legitimate TV time in over eight years. But I guess when Lesnar doesn’t have a mouthpiece like Paul Heyman to shoot his promos, he is a little limited. Ergo, the WWE decided to let Brock speak for a total of like eight seconds before getting interrupted by John Cena.
Cena – who was on the receiving end of a F-5 the previous week – came to the ring and slapped the taste right out of Brock Lesnar’s mouth. Lesnar proceeded to spear Cena, pummeling him for a little bit before all hell broke loose. The entire locker room raided the ring to break up the two brawling superstars, causing a Attitude type riot in the process. Cena didn’t walk away unscathed, his mouth was bloodied from a rusty Lesnar. All I have to say about this ordeal is that Brock Lesnar is serious as a heart attack for the next year about working for the WWE
Already getting in the ring with Cena at Extreme Rules!? That’s nuts for a guy who hasn’t wrestled since 2004. I know, it’s fake, but it’s hard to imagine Lesnar can get into working shape after being away from the ring for eight years. It has to be weird for Cena to do a majority of the work in a match – like he did with The Rock at Wrestlemania – two straight times
Needless to say, the WWE might be inching back to the Attitude Era bit by bit. They will never draw the audience like they once did, but guys like Lesnar will only help their cause, especially if Lesnar is back more than part-time.
