WWE Rumors: Bella Twins Set To Fight In Hell In A Cell Match?

Recently, it has been rumored that for the next WWE PPV, Hell In A Cell, there will be a Hell in a Cell match between the Bella Twins, Nikki and Brie. By putting this as one of the main matches for a PPV, the WWE is putting their viewership at serious risk. It makes little sense why they would use a big-time match on a feud that I feel very few people actually care about.

With WrestleMania season only a few months away and the ratings for RAW declining, it is critical that the WWE books the best possible PPV in the coming months in order to keep the fans interested. Simply put, having a Hell In A Cell match with the Bella Twins is not the best way to do that.

Personally, I really hate the idea of having the HIAC as a yearly gimmick PPV. I have always felt the WWE should save matches like this in order to add a “big feel” to certain feuds. By having it every year, it makes the matches seemed quite forced. Currently, The WWE does have a couple of hot feuds going on, in particular John Cena-Brock Lesnar and Seth Rollins-Dean Ambrose. With the WWE World Heavyweight Championship involved with Cena and Lesnar, this would be the most logical match to put in place, especially with the WWE traditionally defending the title once a month.

However, I believe that Hell in a Cell should not have a title match at all. By having Lesnar take a month off from a PPV, it shows that no one is worthy of a title shot. Brock technically walked away with the title against Cena twice, even though it was by DQ at Night of Champions. The WWE should have Paul Heyman come out and get Cena to prove he has earned another shot against his client, then have Lesnar defend the title again during WrestleMania season.

As for the Rollins-Ambrose feud, this is the match everybody wants see in a cage. With two of the hottest superstars in the business, it would be yet another chance to show why everything these two touch is magic. This feud is still fresh and despite a HIAC match usually marking the end of a storyline, I see it as marking just the beginning with these two.

More importantly, by giving the people the match they want to see, it increases viewership for RAW and potentially the buyrates for the WWE Network. Being trapped in the confides of the cell walls means that these two will have no choice but put on the spectacle fans have been wanting for months.

On the flip side of things, if the WWE is serious about a Divas Hell in a Cell match, it should not be with the Bella Twins. Instead, it should be with current Divas Champion AJ Lee and Paige. These two are the only Divas on the WWE roster (excluding NXT) who I feel would be able to make a match of this caliber seem entertaining.

With Divas matches traditionally not lasting very long, a match like this must last longer than 15 minutes. The move set and rivalry between both AJ and Paige is certainly more entertaining than the current Bella feud. Perhaps if given the opportunity in what would be the first Divas Hell in a Cell, these divas could show WWE fans that the Divas division should be taken seriously.

If this rumor turns out to be true, the pressure would be on for the Bellas. If they have a bad match, the Divas division goes back to being meaningless, but a great match could be be the push the division’s needs. With the Bellas, chances are that the match will not be anything to brag about, and there are much better options. The WWE needs to start listening to the fans and give them what they want.

The next couple months are going to be tough to keep interest of for fans until WrestleMania season. Until then, the WWE should be doing all they can to keep the product as exciting as possible.
