WWE Predictions: Sheamus Will Turn Heel at Survivor Series

This Sunday is the Survivor Series pay-per-view event (free on the WWE Network, by the way) and I’m going to make the prediction, once and for all: on Sunday, November 23 2014 in St. Louis, Missouri, we will see the Celtic Warrior Sheamus turn heel.

I was honestly expecting him to be a member of Team Cena on Sunday, standing alone with John Cena as one of the final two men left up against The Authority, only to turn on Cena out of nowhere to keep Triple H and Stephanie McMahon in power. It won’t turn out like that, but it will be similar.

Maybe we’ll see a shot from backstage with one of them members of Team Cena taken out, and suddenly they are back in a hole with the match set to be 5-on-4. Part of the way through the match, maybe with 10 minutes to go, the situation is looking dire for Cena and co. when Sheamus’ music hits and he makes a miraculous return after it has been guaranteed that his injury at the hands of Mark Henry was going to keep him off of the show.

Team Cena is saved! The Authority will no longer be!

Sheamus eliminates one member of Team Authority, it looks like things are going Cena’s way … then Sheamus makes the hot tag, Cena gets ready to take on Seth Rollins … and BOOM! Double sledge to the back of the head! Rollins nails the Curb Stomp! Team Authority wins! Sheamus was never an official part of the match so he doesn’t have to be eliminated. Plus, it’s wrestling. There aren’t really any rules.

It has been a while since Sheamus has truly been relevant. He is the definition of a workhorse, going out week after week having very good wrestling matches, getting good crowd reactions and staying the course in the role that he has been relegated to. He has so much more talent than he has been allowed to use, though, and his personality needs to shine through.

He was great as a heel when he left faux ECW and won the WWE Championship from Cena at TLC a bunch of years back. His victory over Cena was a fluke and was completely portrayed in that manner, and he was handily defeated by Triple H at WrestleMania, but shined in the limited capacity he was afforded.

The WWE is in need of more guys at the tippy-top. Sheamus has been flirting with it for many years. Joining The Authority will help push him over the top.
