Okay, you ask yourself, what sense does this make? Tyson Kidd is the man in the bunny costume who has been following Adam Rose as part of the Rosebuds? But… but… The Bunny has been at ringside for the Kidd/Rose matches and has helped Kidd win twice. Indeed, that is the genius behind the entire idea. The Bunny keeps costing his leader (I guess) matches against Tyson Kidd. He is distracting Rose, trying to physically interfere but not actually doing so and overall just putting the leader of the Rosebuds in a bad mood. I believe Mister Bunnyface also stole Rose’s razors.
WWE could use a little bit of nonsense. Does it really make much sense, if any at all, to reveal Tyson Kidd to have been The Bunny all along? It actually does, come to think of it. They have to make up a backstory for it to work, but there’s no reason this isn’t necessarily possible. Kidd hates fun. We all know that. He’s a complete spoilsport and nobody likes to be around him. He also doesn’t like to be around anyone. Kidd likes his quiet time and he likes his music. If he’s not in the ring, just leave the man alone.
Enter Adam Rose, the happy-go-lucky party boy who just wants to make everybody get up and dance, always has a smile on his face and a lollipop in his mouth. This guy just rubs Tyson Kidd the wrong way. He’s loud, obnoxious, has too many people crammed into the locker room and is just plain bothersome. Rose is also a bit of an enigma, though, so in order for Kidd to find out how to make the annoyance go away, he had to run some intel. That’s where the bunny scheme comes to be. Infiltrate the Exotic Express — what an idea. Kidd pays off the dude in the bunny suit, jumps into it himself and starts following Rose around backstage. He learns his pre-match rituals, finds out how he strategizes and becomes privy to all of Rose’s strengths and weaknesses. To effectively eradicate something, you must first learn how it thinks, so that’s what he does.
Of course, none of this works if they don’t first establish Kidd to have the aforementioned personality traits. His character was well fleshed out on NXT (and Total Divas for anybody who watches) and people familiar with him through those avenues would get it. The majority of the WWE Universe wouldn’t get it at all, so the big reveal would fall completely flat if they didn’t first offer Kidd some decent promo time. They have to allow him to establish his personality and have him be vocal about his feelings. Get that done, and now you have a bunny reveal that is absolutely ridiculous, but with a well-told backstory that makes more sense than you might expect.
