Sheamus Must Turn Heel

Sheamus

WWE Universe Facebook

Okay, I have been saying this since I came on board with this website back in August, but Sheamus could really use a heel turn. In fact, one of my hopes/predictions for 2014 was that at some point, preferably and most likely early on, Sheamus would see the writing on the wall and jump to the dark side. It still has yet to occur and it’s a shame because the man is incredibly talented but also amazingly stale and that helps nobody.

I took a moment to analyze the WWE roster, and in my very scientific research, I was able to conclude that there are a total of 10 upper to mid level bad guys. On the happy-go-lucky handshaking baby-kissing side, there are only six. This is not including tag teams. The balance is off and a 9-7 split would be more comfortable. That notwithstanding, this really is just about how amazingly stale Sheamus has become. His personality is almost more annoying than anything else. It was new and entertaining when he started acting somewhat goofy yet still kept his intensity and love for a good fight. Now he’s still doing the same schtick, and it’s been over four years.

Enough is enough. It’s time for a shakeup and his current out of action status provides for a simple way to finally switch his alliances. I would have him be a surprise tag team partner for Dean Ambrose upon his return. They can win their match, but moments after the pinfall Ambrose can walk straight into a Brogue Kick. There’s your heel turn. Return under the guise of helping a fellow (fella!) superstar in need only to reveal that you were targeting him, and this perfect opportunity had presented itself. Hopefully Sheamus will be back early enough that this can occur before the Royal Rumble, so a feud would be able to pick up steam and then gain some more by events that occur during the Rumble match itself.

In the end, the last thing I can say about Sheamus right now is that he is far too good to be aimlessly wandering around without anything good to do. His matches with Rusev for the United States Championship were very good and he did exactly what he needed to do in that situation. Now he must move forward and do another thing that is long overdue. Start kicking off peoples’ heads with viciousness and malicious intent as a bad guy, Sheamus! It’s all we ask of you!
