It is being reported that the New York Jets have released WR Laveranues Coles, so where is his next stop? Oakland Raiders, Minnesota Vikings, San Diego Chargers, or maybe a darkhorse team? The Oakland Raiders could use Laveranues Coles with Chaz Schilens ailing, however Louis Murphy had a big game Saturday night. The Minnesota Vikings are seeking a replacement for sidelined Sidney Rice. How about the San Diego Chargers finding a deep threat to team up alongside Malcom Floyd? Or perhaps there is another team which is interested.
It’s no secret that the Oakland Raiders love a wide receiver with speed and Laveranues Coles has that. Their receiving corps could definitely benefit from a veteran on the squad, they are filled with young players at that position.
The Minnesota Vikings seriously need a deep threat. After losing Sidney Rice to ill-timed surgery for at least half the season, the Vikings reached out to veteran Javon Walker and traded for Miami Dolphins possession receiver, Greg Camarillo. You know that Favre isn’t going to be happy with Walker and Camarillo if Coles is out there. He’s going to make a pitch to bring in everyone he can possibly find.
The San Diego Chargers are going to need to find a speed threat to compliment Malcom Floyd with Vincent Jackson sitting out. Jackson told Jason LaCanfora on Friday that he was prepared to sit out all season if need be.
I think you might see a team like the Seattle Seahawks make a run for Coles. They have been linked to Brandon Marshall and Vincent Jackson talks this off season and why not Laveranues Coles?
