So when does Max Hall become the starter in Arizona?

The Arizona Cardinals released QB Matt Leinart outright yesterday and named Derek Anderson the starter. Any Cleveland Browns fan will tell you that this will be a temporary move, so when do the Arizona Cardinals decide to make Max Hall the starting quarterback? As I wrote here on Friday, I really like Max Hall and thought after watching all the Arizona Cardinals games this preseason that he should have been named the backup to Derek Anderson.

Hall looked very polished in his appearances for the Cardinals, making very precise throws. He was a three year starter for the BYU Cougars where he threw for nearly 12,000 yards and 94 touchdowns. He attempted over 400 passes a season, nearly 500 in 2007 and completed well over 60% of his passes. After watching Hall play, I was very surprised that Hall went undrafted this year.

Judging from the Cardinals schedule, there is a possibility that the Cardinals could be 1-5 by the time their bye week rolls around. If that is the case, whats the harm in rolling out Hall and see what exactly you have in a live action, full speed regular season game?

Derek Andreson is not the long term solution for the Cardinals, he just won the starting job because he looked better than Matt Leinart. Well, Hall looked better than anyone on the Cardinals roster in the quarterback position. So why not roll him out and see what you have before you plan to address your quarterback position.
