All is not well with New York Giants RB Brandon Jacobs, he apparently is going to be meeting with New York Giants management today requesting a trade from the New York Giants according to the Bergen Record. Brandon Jacobs made some news last night when he launched his helmet into the stands after walking back to the sideline. The fan who caught Jacob’s helmet didn’t want to relinquish the souvenir, but security finally managed to get it away from him.
The request for a trade comes as no shock as Jacobs role and productivity have greatly diminished with the New York Giants. Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw has assumed the lead role for the Giants. Jacobs best year was 2008, when he rushed for 1089 yards and scored 15 touchdowns. In 2009, Jacobs signed a new 4 year 25 million dollar contract and his productivity hasn’t been the same since.
There are two possible destinations for the running back. The Denver Broncos, who have been acquiring running backs because of their rash of injuries and the Green Bay Packers who lost Ryan Grant for the year with torn tendons in his ankle. The Packers are using Brandon Jackson currently as a replacement, but he has durability issues.
