Will Carolina fire John Fox this season?

The Carolina Panthers are not a very good time right now, and the prospects for improvement don’t look much better, so will the Carolina panthers fire John Fox this season? The Carolina Panthers offense is sputtering, averaging only 10 points a game and are going with a rookie quarterback under center. The Panthers defense is hovering around the middle of the pack in the NFL and after looking at the upcoming schedule, there aren’t many prospects for wins down the road.
The Carolina Panthers moved several players in the offseason and failed to offer John Fox another contract so he is basically coaching as a lame duck in 2010. For two seasons, Bill Cowher’s name has been rumored to become the next Carolina Panthers coach, because of the fact he lives in the Carolina’s. Cowher’s name is currently being linked to the New York Giants job as Tom Coughlin is starting to feel some heat with the Giants playing so poorly.
With money being an issue with the Panthers, as well as many other teams in the league, I doubt if Bill Cowher would be hired as a coach for the Panthers as he would command top money. However, my question is, at what point do the Panthers pull the plug on John Fox? Does he coach the team for the entire season? Do they fire him after the team goes 0-5? Does the ownership wait to see if Fox loses to San Francisco and St Louis is weeks 7 and 8? If he loses all those games, the Panthers will be 0-8.
Should the Panthers fire Fox before the end of the season, most likely an interim coach would be named from the coaching staff to finish the season. If and when Fox is released from the team, I expect the Panthers to head into the college ranks or to hire a NFL coordinator to assume the role of head coach heading into 2011.
