New York Giants DE Mathias Kiwanuka is done for the season. The New York Giants have placed the defensive end on the injured reserve list for the season while Kiwanuka deals with a herniated cervical disk in his neck.

The Giants made the decision yesterday to place the defensive end on the IR list after it became apparent that he would not be able to play again this season. Kiwanuka told reporters that he hopes the rest will give his neck time to heal.

Kiwanuka had already missed the past four games but had started the season with four sacks in three games. As he heads into the final few months of his contract with the New York Giants, it remains to be seen if the Giants will show any interest in re-signing the defensive end.
