Stevie Johnson Signs Multi-Year Deal With Buffalo Bills
For all the attitude issues and outward weirdness he can show on the field, Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stevie Johnson is one of the league’s most talented.
It appears this talent was enough for the Bills to make a long-term commitment to Johnson, as he has signed a long-term extension with the team, the details of which have yet to be disclosed.
According to the following tweet from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the deal is for five years and worth $36.25 million:
If $19.5 million of this deal is indeed guaranteed as Schefter suggests, it is a huge win for Johnson and a show of faith by a Bills franchise that needs some long-term stability in an offensive unit subject to constant turnover in the past few seasons.
The most interesting facet of this new deal for Johnson will be his reaction.
Will Johnson be predictable and play with less effort now that he has gotten paid, or, will his attitude change as he works to prove he is among the NFL’s elite at the position?
That’s for Stevie Johnson to know and the rest of us to find out.
