WR Randy Moss Agrees To Deal With San Francisco 49ers
Randy Moss is getting another chance in the NFL after agreeing to a one-year contract with the San Francisco 49ers on Monday, a person with knowledge of the negotiations said. ESPN was the first to report the move a day before the start of the free agency period.
The 35-year-old Moss worked out with the 49ers earlier in the day.
Moss, who worked out last Tuesday with the New Orleans Saints, spent last year out of football due to his lack of production and ego.
Niners CEO Jed York told reporters earlier Monday that his team needed “someone to stretch the field.” The always athletic, 6-foot-4 Moss will do just that.
Moss’ best season came with the New Engalnd Patriots in 2007, when he caught 98 passes for 1,493 yards and a single-season record 23 touchdowns in route to New England going 16-0 during the regular season. in his 13-year career Moss has 954 catches for 14,858 yards and 153 TDs.
Moss has had more than 1,000 yards receiving in a season 10 times, second only to Hall of Famer Jerry Rice, who did it 14 times.
Philadelphia Phillies center fielder Shane Victorino is sure excited Moss is back.
This should be the steal of a lifetime if Moss plays well. I expect he will!
Moss has everything to gain and nothing to lose. After being out of the league last year Moss is planning to show that teams were wrong to let him go. Moss is going to come out with a vengeance and I expect that he will have a comeback season. He has all the athleticism in the world but if his ego is still with him, kiss his career goodbye.
What do you think about the signing?
