Report: San Francisco 49ers Emerge In Peyton Manning Race

The race for Peyton Manning isn’t just a two horse competition. It sounded like Manning was down to deciding between Denver and Tennessee but the San Francisco 49ers have emerged as a darkhorse for his services. He worked out with coach Jim Harbaugh and took a physical with the team.
If the 49ers are able to add Manning, they are a definite Super Bowl contender. They nearly made the Super Bowl with Alex Smith of all people quarterbacking the squad. The 49ers have already added Randy Moss this offseason. You think he’d rather catch passes from Alex Smith or Manning?
The Manning saga is far from over. I expect all three teams to pull out all stops for Manning. Reports were stating that Denver was prepared to offer five years and 60 million dollars. 30 million of that would be guaranteed. If teams are willing to go that far for Manning, it will be an interesting race.
