Merril Hoge Rips Tim Tebow’s Football Knowledge
Merril Hoge has long been a Tim Tebow hater. His hate for the soon to be ex-Denver Broncos quarterback was well documented on ESPN throughout the NFL season. While Tebow was winning, Hoge softened the criticism, but he’s back at it again.
Thanks to Pro Football Talk, we can bring you some great quotes from Hoge about Tebow and his supposed lack of football knowledge.
“The more I studied him in an NFL setting, the more disturbed I was that he has no clue what he’s looking at,” Hoge said of Tebow. “His IQ as a football player is not very good. That is why they have to come down and make it some of a college-form system that he’s comfortable with in Florida. He can’t execute, from a cerebral aspect, a pro-style system.”
That’s certainly not a quote you’ll find on Tebow’s football card. I’ve heard numerous criticisms about Tebow’s arm strength and throwing motion, but never his football IQ.
Maybe that rumored trade to New England could be the best thing for him. I think Tom Brady and company have this football thing figured out.
