We’re not even in the busy month of April and Tim Tebow has already taken the Big Apple by storm since the former Denver Broncos quarterback was traded to the New York Jets last month. With Easter coming up this weekend, it looks like the newest member of the Jets will be keeping himself busy doing one of the things he does best–discussing his religion with others.
According to KVUE.com, Tebow will spend part of his Easter Sunday speaking to a crowd at a service for the Celebration Church in Georgetown, Texas. While Pastors of the church are blown away at the fact that Tebow chose their mass of all places, it’s even more amazing that the event is expected to draw a crowd of around 30,000 people.
From KVUE.com:
“Obviously it’s our Super Bowl,” said Joe Champion, pastor at the Celebration Church. “Easter is the resurrection of Christ, which we celebrate in our faith. We feel like it’s going to be a testimony to the community. We want it to be a family event.”
“There will be the sacredness of Easter. It’s not a Tim Tebow show. It’s not about a celebrity. There’s really only one celebrity that we are going to honor and highlight,” added Pastor Champion.
Tebow’s speech may only last for about 20 minutes, but this has to be one of the coolest experiences for anyone lucky enough to attend this service on Sunday. This is just another example as to why he’s one of the most popular athletes and role models in all of sports.
