Photo: Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton Buys $1.6 Million Condo in Same Building as Michael Jordan
While wins and losses are certainly important, many people forget that major sports executives, management, and players are all businessmen trying to get the best possible and most efficient return on investment (ROI).
Visit the Economics of Sports, a blog powered by the new Rant Finance launched in April 2012, which takes a look at the economic and financial aspects of one of the world’s biggest industries: sports.
Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton displayed one of the best rookie seasons in NFL history in 2011 after throwing for 4,051 yards and 21 touchdowns on top 706 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns on the ground. While it’s still to early to tell whether or not Newton will end up being one of the greatest athletes of all time, the 2011 Rookie of the Year can at least say he’s neighbors with arguably the greatest NBA player of all time–Michael Jordan.
Newton just purchased a condo in Charlotte for $1.6 million and as you can see in the photo above–he certainly will be quite comfortable in his new pad. Newton’s new place consists of 3 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms, but the best feature of the complex may be the rooftop pool that can be used by residents of the building.
Now that they’re in the same building, it’s hard not to wonder if this could become the start of a new friendship between the two superstars and Newton can rip on Jordan for his Panthers almost recording as many wins as the Charlotte Bobcats this past season. Thanks to Bleacher Report for the photo in the article.
