Jaxson De Ville Hits Perfect Tee Shot On Number 17 At TPC Sawgrass
If you would have guessed that a man in mascot outfit would be good at golf, I would have to give you money. Jaxson De Ville is the name of the Jacksonville Jaguars mascot. The man that plays Jackson De Ville goes by the name of Curtis Dvorak and he has been the mascot since 1996. He’s also amazing at golf, judging by this perfect tee shot on the 17th hole at TPC Sawgrass.
I saw a lot of people hit the ball into the water going at that island green over the weekend. If you would have told me a man in a costume would hit the perfect shot, I would have laughed. Dvorak/De Ville was allowed to caddy for Jim Furyk and the caddy for Furyk’s playing partner challenged him to take a shot. The mascot ended up hitting a great tee shot.
I am not the world’s greatest golfer, but I like to think that I am pretty good when I stay focused. I would imagine myself hitting at least two or three shots into the water on that hole. It is just so intimidating. I would never be able to focus enough to hit a shot like that. Put me in a costume and I would have better luck kicking the golf ball that far.
Dvorak is apparently a god among mascots. Jaxson De Ville is great at golf, which gives me an idea. The PGA should host a tournament for sports mascots. Like you would change the channel if you saw that was on.
