Jarret Johnson was a fourth round pick in the 2003 NFL Draft.  The San Diego Chargers signed him to a four year deal worth $19 million on March 14, 2012.  Johnson started in all 80 regular season games for the Baltimore Ravens from 2007-2011 recording a career high with six sacks in 2009.

Shaun Phillips was a fourth round pick by San Diego in the 2004 NFL Draft.  Phillips started every game that he appeared in for the Chargers from 2006-2011 and made the Pro Bowl in 2010 when he had 11 sacks, seven pass deflections and an interception.  Phillips battled a foot injury last year, missed four games and had 3.5 sacks to go along with two interceptions in 12 games.

Antwan Barnes was a fourth round pick by Baltimore in the 2007 NFL Draft.  Barnes had five sacks and an interception in 38 games with Baltimore from 2007-2009 and was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles.  Philadelphia released Barnes after he played two games for them in the 2010 season.  Barnes was signed by San Diego on October 12, 2010 and had 4.5 sacks in 11 games that season while he had 11 sacks in 15 games which included five starts last season.

San Diego chose Melvin Ingram with the 18th pick in round one of the 2012 NFL Draft.  Ingram finished his 2010 season with nine sacks in 12 games for the South Carolina Gamecocks while he had 10 sacks in 13 games last season.  Ingram was converted from linebacker to defensive end in college, but was converted to outside linebacker by the Chargers.

Barnes, Ingram, Johnson and Phillips all play the OLB position, so San Diego has enough depth at OLB if one of them suffers an injury in 2012.
