Brandon Mosley Likely to be the Only Auburn Tiger Selected in 2012 NFL Draft
Coming off of a national championship heading into the 2011 season, the Auburn Tigers returned the fewest starters (four) of any team in the entire country, and youth and inexperience predictably plagued the Tigers. Yet, they were still able to come away with a solid 8-5 record after a Chick-Fil-A Bowl victory over Virginia.
Auburn doesn’t graduate a lot from the 2011 roster, therefore they don’t figure to hear many Tigers called at the 2012 NFL Draft. However, the Tiger do have a couple of players who may stand a chance to hear their names called, and player who could potentially be one of the hottest commodities available as an undrafted free agent.
Here is an early look at draft projections and scouting reports for draft eligible Auburn Tigers.

Brandon Mosley- #100 Overall, #9 OT
Mosley signed with Auburn out of JUCO as a tight end, but eventually transitioned into an offensive tackle who could eventually develop into a solid NFL starter (projecting to the right side.) He has a natural athleticism that he holds over from his days as a tight end, and he still is relatively raw having only played the position for a couple of seasons. He moves very naturally and when he cleans up a few technical issues like hand placement he could be one of the steals of this draft.
Grade: Second-Third Round
Josh Harris- #366 Overall, #1 LS
Harris will almost certainly not be selected in this April’s NFL Draft, but his phone will blow up when the Draft concludes. As a long-snapper, Harris is generally regarded as the best in the business, and he has the type of size that a lot of franchises covet in a long snapper.
Grade: UFA
Neiko Thorpe- #418 Overall, #18 FS
It’s difficult to foresee Thorpe being taken in the Draft, but he stands an outside shot with an exemplary day at Auburn’s Pro Day (as he isn’t likely to be invited to the NFL Combine.) He has nice size at 6-1 194 lbs, and is a decent athlete, but he doesn’t show great play recognition. Luckily, it only takes one team to be interested.
Grade: Mr. Irrelevant-UFA
