Claudio Ranieri has been hired as the new manager for Inter Milan.
Ranieri officially replaces Gian Piero Gasperini a day after Gasperini was fired for a poor start to the season.
Gasperini drew once and lost four in his brief tenure at the San Siro. The last straw was a 3-1 loss to Novara, who are in their first season of Serie A in 55 years.
Rainieri has managed Chelsea, Juventus, and Roma, making him familiar with big-time club soccer and the Serie A.
Inter is currently 16th in Serie A with one point in three games. They travel to Bolgona this weekend, play at CSKA Moscow on Wednesday, and host title candidates Napoli next weekend.
