Schalke 04 manager Ralf Rangnick resigned from his post because he was….wait for it….too tired.
Rangnick resigned after six months in charge, although I’m sure they were incredibly grueling. The 53-year-old cited fatigue syndrome and said “After long and careful consideration, I have come to the conclusion that I need a break.”
Small consolation I’m sure to the Schalke fans whose club was struggling before Rangnick took over in March. Rangnick led the team to a spot in the Champions League semi-finals and a German Cup championship that included an emphatic 5-0 win in the final.
Rangnick becomes to the second manager to leave a Bundesliga club this year, Hamburg fired Michael Oenning Monday.
Schalke 04 currently sits mid-table with three wins and three losses to begin the 2011-2012 season.
In related news I have decided to resign from this blog, as I am too tired. Only kidding. Keep checking for more soccer updates and stories, fatigue notwithstanding.
