You read it right. 10, yes 10 of the Philadelphia Union’s 34 games will be on national televised games. Also the season home opener against Sporting Kansas City will be on 6ABC. The rest of the games this season being shown on either Comcast Sports or ABC will be announced later on. It is the first season that the Union will have a home game to kick off the season.
The Union will start the season and end the season at home. As previously mentioned, Philadelphia will take on SKC on March 2, and will conclude the 2013 season also against Kansas City on Oct. 26. The latter will be televised on NBC Sports for a 3 p.m. kickoff.
Philadelphia takes on the New York Red Bulls on Sunday, June 23, which will be shown on ESPN. ESPN2 will air the D.C. United-Union game on April 21, and the San Jose Earthquakes-Philadelphia game on Sep. 8. Both of those games are road games for the Union. NBC Sports will show seven Union games in total.
The complete season schedule can be seen on the Union’s website with dates, times, and current channels the game will be televised on. For games not being shown on national television, fans can watch on MLS Live through Major League Soccer’s website.
Before we know it, it will be March 2, and the dooping will be loud at PPL Park. Fans are ready to be back in PPL Park after a mediocre 2012 season.
