According to reports, Paris Saint-Germain believes Paris Saint-Germain will be able to persuade Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup to the Parc des Princes.
Laudrup insists that he wants a stay at Capital One Cup winning Swansea despite his relationship with chairman Huw Jenkins hitting a new low following a disagreement between Jenkins and Laudrup’s agent, Bayram Tutumlu.
Oil-rich PSG have already made an initial approach for the Dane who has become a serious contender in becoming the manager. The French side have finally agreed to release Carlo Ancelotti, allowing the Italian manager to move to Real Madrid.
PSG, who will be playing in the Champions League next season, had also targeted Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas with rumors that they were ready to pay his release clause. However, his representatives made it clear that the former Chelsea manager had no interest in leaving White Hart Lane after just one season.
With Laudrup as the alternative, whose reputation has improved due to his stellar business with Swansea as well as cup triumph– meaning Europa League football next season — PSG will offer an initial 12-month deal to the former Barcelona player.
Laudrup has denied the speculation, however, according to Marca.com. “I have repeated it so many times in the last three months. My intention is to stay. The only thing I am interested in is having the best players at Swansea within the budget that is possible. That’s what I have been fighting for every day, last year when I arrived and this year as well. That will always be the most important thing for me, wherever I end up in the future.”
Laudrup’s daughter, Rebecca has even taken to Twitter to prove that her father is staying. “Let’s just make this clear! He made a promise, and will therefore stay! I think the French newspapers got it wrong. There is a Laudrup going to Paris but it’s not my dad, its me! I wont be a manager though.”
