Barcelona are now a whopping 6-0 in the La Liga after yet another masterful performance from their top two stars, Lionel Messi and Neymar. These two offensive-minded geniuses are not only brilliant at creating opportunities for themselves, but they also do most of the work to set up teammates who usually end up hitting the ball to find the back of the net.
Yeah, Messi and Neymar are arguably considered the best duo that the world has to offer right now at the club level. Real Madrid has Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale, but due to the Welshman’s ongoing injury, the Portuguese superstar has still had to carry this team on his back alone with a little bit of help from an up and coming midfield star that goes by the name of Isco.
That was just a short comparison between the top two sides playing in Spain. Then again, Real is technically not one of the top two sides right now, according to the league standings …
Atletico Madrid has won its first six league games and also the first UCL group game. They are led by coach Diego Simeono, who has heavily relied on his no. 10, Arda Turan, who is also a Turkish international attacking midfielder/winger. This kid has blossomed into a offensive-minded genius who always seems to send the correct pass to his teammates, whether it be trying to set them up for goal or to get the ball out of danger in a tight space.
Atletico and Barca tied 1-1 in the first leg, then 0-0 in the second leg of the Super Cup earlier this year. Barca ended up winning on the away goals rule. That series has left us begging for more as these two sides have yet to meet in twice in league play. Well, judging by their performances thus far, the winner of their face off will determine who finishes above the other.
