Fingers Pointing to Roberto Mancini to Coach Galatasaray

Mancini

Galatasaray have recently let Fatih Terim go as head coach of the club. Now, they are looking to hand the reins over to former Manchester City head man Roberto Mancini. Both men are capable of bringing titles, but only one was able to do so in Turkey.

Mancini won the Premier League title only once with Man City, and was never able to advance past the group stage during his two tries with the Blue side of Manchester. He was able to bring most of the players he wanted on the club, which is why his job was much easier than most. Now, as for what he would try to do at Galatasaray …

He is rumored to be bringing Edin Dzeko and Javi Garcia with him to the Turkish champions. That is absolutely unacceptable because there is no way that two players in their prime who could do big things in that league would decide to follow their former coach to a Turkish League. Why? Because that league is not nearly as competitive as the one they are in right now.

Mancini does tend to get along with most of his players, but his style of play may conflict with the style that Gala’s roster is quite used to. Most of the time, they know how to defend, play patiently in the midfield and take shots on frame. With Mancini, he focuses more on the attack and leaves the defenders to fend for themselves, which is exactly why they did not succeed in Europe.

If Mancini does take over the club, he will have to gain the trust of everyone who is angered by the departure of Terim, and will have to mesh his style with the one that the players and fans are used to.
