Belgian sensation Adnan Januzaj is set to sign a new deal that will keep him at Old Trafford for a few more years.
The youngster burst onto the scene this year as he has been receiving regular first-team minutes since the arrival of David Moyes, who has picked him over more experienced players like Shinji Kagawa or Ashley Young, and he has delivered consistently.
After his impressive performance against Sunderland where he scored the two goals that allowed the Red Devils to beat the Black Cats, and due to the rumors that are linking him to sides like Barcelona and Real Madrid, it has been widely reported that he will be receiving a new deal in the coming days to prevent a repeat of what happened with Paul Pogba, who rejected several deals to sign with Juventus.
The Belgian teenage sensation is reportedly set to sign a new contract with the Old Trafford side that is also planning to register him for the Champions League. The deal will be worth around £60,000 a week for the next four years.
Januzaj arrived to Manchester United at the age of 16 after playing for the Anderlecht youth system, and he figures to be an important player for the Old Trafford side for years to come. He’s highly regarded by the coaching staff, but particularly Moyes, who recently said in an interview that Januzaj is “as good as Rooney was as his age”.
If the comparison ends up being reality, then Manchester United is making the right move locking up one of the brightest talents in Europe.
