With the £198 million transfer of Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) now stalled thanks to La Liga, the narrative has taken on a new twist that not many could have anticipated.
As much as Barcelona would prefer to keep their stars in house, it’s just not prudent business given the wad of cash being offered up by PSG.
The financial fair play standards are what stand between PSG and their man at this point.
And it’s also what stands between Neymar and a staggering amount of money.
