Head Coach Mike Munchak would like for Tennessee Titans’ wide receiver Kenny Britt to be available to play for the Titans this coming regular season. He would ideally like a decision on a suspension by this coming Friday, August 31.
Friday also happens to be the day in which all 32 NFL teams must reduce their roster size down to 53 players. Without a nod from the NFL commissioner, Roger Goodell, Munchak had Britt complete a physical only to have him pass the test.
The Titans have plenty of options at the wide receiver spot and the team would certainly not want to bring him back before he was one hundred percent. But Britt will be taken off the PUP list and on the active roster as of tomorrow.
However, Munchak made it very clear at the beginning of the week, that even if Britt was healthy, he would not see any snaps in the team’s last preseason game when they host the New Orleans Saints on Thursday.
“No, even if we felt like he was ready for that, we probably wouldn’t do that. We would probably give him the extra 10 days to ctuall6 go on the field.” He continued by stating, “It is a unique position because at X you are out there by yourself anyway, one-on-one quite a bit at the position he plays. It is not like you are dealing with the other interior of the line where there are a lot of bodies around and you’re lacking confidence.”
Here we go Nashville. It’s going to be a bumpy yet hopefully satisfying season.
