The image of Vince Young, facing 4th and 5 from the 9 yard-line with 20 seconds on the clock in the National Championship game, dancing into the end zone is one that Texas Longhorn fans will never forget.
But this time, could he be trading in his cleats for real dancing shoes?
Earlier today, Young announced via Twitter that he has been asked to be compete on next season’s “Dancing with the Stars.”
Since his game winning touchdown in the Rose Bowl against the USC Trojans in 2006, Vince Young has had a tumultuous professional career. In his rookie season, he won the NFL’s Rookie of the Year award, but after some injuries, off-the-field issues, and a very public rift with former Titans’ coach, Jeff Fisher, Young has found himself as the back-up quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles.
Vince’s fans, judging by responses on various social networks, seem to be torn on whether or not the quarterback should accept the invitation. Many believe that he needs to focus solely on football, while others think it could certainly help boost his recently weakened public image.
There is no word on whether or not he will accept the invitation.
